SCREENING REFERENCE TOOL

Mesh Size Converter: Mesh, Micron, mm & Inch

Convert common U.S. sieve mesh sizes into nominal aperture values, or enter an opening size to find the nearest standard mesh.

Quick mesh & aperture lookup

Enter a mesh number or an opening size and choose its unit.

Examples: 25 mesh ≈ 0.710 mm; 70 mesh ≈ 0.212 mm. Non-standard values return the nearest listed U.S. sieve size.

How Mesh Size and Aperture Are Related

Mesh count indicates the number of openings per linear inch. Aperture is the clear distance between adjacent wires. A higher mesh number generally means a smaller opening, but wire thickness also changes the available opening and screening area.

01

Start with the cut size

Specify the required separation point in mm or μm whenever possible.

02

Check material behavior

Moisture, agglomeration, static charge and bulk density can change screening performance.

03

Confirm the screen design

Review wire diameter, open area, screen material and cleaning method.
